Hi,
I need to take some measurments of mine they are very similar I'll have to get mine out in the morning to confirm if they are the same.
My hinge and catch are magnetic, heres the problem my upper lining passes the black light test.
I'll get back to you on this one ASAP.
Kind regards,
Marcus

Nick,
Well the measurments are close very close. My hinge differs from yours as does the the outer covering. It looks like mine used to be white or an off white inside. I notice the gaps between the recess for the cross arms and the side of the box are more narrow on mine than yours also.
But to be honest I couldn't say if yours is a reproduction or not, regardless of the black light test.
I'll post some pics later for you to see. Take it back if your unhappy with it, or do as I suggested in the PM HE HE HE.
I'm sorry you have to take it back, at least you have one, I know you've been after one of these for a while.
Kind regards,
Marcus

Thanks guys for your help so far.
Any one else got any opinions on the black light issue as time is ticking and I have to either keep this or take it back tomorrow morning.
The hinge is also magnetic for info.

Cases
Vey interesting. I never thought of checking my cases with the UV light....I have tonight. All my cases (Ek2's and EK1's) pass the test. Only "problem" seems to be with a grubby-looking LDO KVK1 case. The piece of cloth which covers the hinge inside the case, does glow. The case looks ok otherwise with the old flaky glue. I have tried to take photos... Not easy as it does not show the true glow but you get the idea. Maybe it was repaired after the war....by the UK dealer I bought it from....Attached Files

Well
I have been able to prise a small part of the base up to look at whats underneath...
That has made my mind up for me....... grey modern cardboard and clear modern glue. This is a very good repro box.......
DAMN
