    EK Repaint?

    Hi Gys

I have seen tons of repaints but not like this if it is one.

Ive been messing with it for days and see no evidence of any paint underneath. Nor any brushmarks.

Is there anyway if it is a repaint to use a safe remover to see if original paint is underneath? Iam not stupid or brave enough to apply any fingernail polish to it. Would maybe a lot of work with a buffing cloth give me any clue?

Hi Dion, what actually makes you think it is repainted?

        Cheers, Ade.

It was sent back by buyer as a repaint and some WAF members said so also. I actually am not quite sure that it is, I think the areas of original paint have faded away leaving the stronger areas much more glossy. I see no different layers.

I don't see a repaint, I can see the areas on the core which are glossy through handling and areas which are dull ie: close to the beading where fingers cant get into but I personally don't think it's repainted from the pics.

                **EDIT**
From the last pic at a different angle, I can see why it might be. The areas which are a slightly different shade have some odd edges which don't look consistent from it being handled so there is a possibility.....

Hi Dion, going from the pics, my take on it is the same as Adrian's.

                  Cheers, Ade.

                    repainted orwe not.

old paint wil be removed and replaised with new paint.
paint on the silver inner sides is a normal thing to be seen on a lot off crosses.
who are not repainted but original in paint.

only thing on youre cross is that the swadtika is wearing off,,
and normaly the 1939 schud wear off to.

I can't see any signs of repaint either, but then again I'm quit new to the hobby

                      Best regards,
                      Ben

                        EK2 Repaint

Hi Dion; from what I can see, it appears to have as the others have stated, turned glossy from being handled. As for the what appears to be rough areas in the corners, could this be minor rust developing under the original paint. Just MHO.
