EK KC ribbon?

Dear Sirs!
My friend got this 'piece of cloth', which he assumes to be a Knight Cross ribbon as worn on field.
I would like to ask for your expert opinion. Any serious comment is appriciated.

From Dietrich's book:

KC ribbons are 45mm wide,
The red band is 21mm wide,
The black and white bands are 6mm wide, although collectors do not usually measure the width of these two bands; They count the number of stitches in the white band = usually 25 or 30 stitches, although 23-24 do exist.

Edit: The material is cotton or rayon. Tell us what you find out. We'd be interested in hearing.

I think it's EK2 ribbon, whether it was used wartime as KC ribbon is another matter.
Even if the snaps prove period, and the thread, it's a leap of faith
'looks' pretty good though
