Yet Another WW2 EK 1st Class Question

    Hello,

I'm considering buying this WW2 EK 1st class but I would like some other opinions please. It looks good to me but I don't want to get Floched over. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Is there any way to tell if this one is a WW2 period Souval or a post WW2 Souval? (I know that Souval made some post WW2 knight crosses but I don't know if he made any post WW2 EKs). Thanks again.

His products are always good. I've never been given a bad piece from him.

So amazing to me that this EK I can be nailed as a Souval right off the bat!
So what is the dead givaway? Is it the corners?
Man Oh Man! It is a Beauty though and I am Happy for you if it winds up in your collection Feindflug!
              Horrido!

I am learning alot from you all here, I Look forward to learning how to pin down a Souval so fast!
Also the paint looks very nice clean to the edge for the most part. However it looks Frosted? or bumpy? Is this the right term for the appearance of the paint on this, Frosted?

A number of makers used the Souval frame. A good history of this can be found in the crosses' forum.

Kev, frosted is the term used to describe the finish applied to some crosses on the beading. The outer frame edges were polished to a mirror like appearance and the beading painted or chemically treated to give a frosty appearance. Very pleasing on the eye! Do a search on the forum, there will be plenty of info. The search facility is very useful, any queries, just type it into 'search' and voila. The term commonly used for that type of painted core is 'eggshell' for obvious reasons.

                          Cased EK 1 Arrived Today.

The cased EK 1 has arrived today. I would like to thank everyone on this thread for their helpful advice. I would also like to thank the seller Gailen L. David of GDM Militaria who is a sponser of this forum. He sold me an original item that was accurately described for a fair price. He charged me a fair price for the postage and he mailed it right away (after I paypaled him). I received it within 2 days. I'm pleased with everything. Thanks everyone.
