    L/50 unusual pin...

    Just came across this one.
This is the first time I see an L/50 with this type of needle.
The mm is without a box, which is unusual as well

It's for sale at a german dealer that I have met in person and is one of the nicest and most reliable person in this field of collecting.
I presume he doesn't mind if I use the pic here, just for everyone's education.

The cross came directly from the recipients relatives.

Is there anyone who has an L/50 with this set-up??

    Thanks,
    Ben

You are right, the hinge and pin system is unusual for this maker.
If the front is OK (especially number design) then I have no problem with the EK I.

Maybe a small serial of Godet EK I's with a supplied needle.

At the last time i see 2 of this crosses.

The cross is imo made by B H. Mayer. The stamp is identical with L/18 uset too.

Its imo possible that Godet supplied a small lot of crosses when Berlin boms by allied airforce.

Ben, please post the front of this cross.

      regards
      Andreas

Sorry if I'm off on this, but I thought the only good L/50's had the mm under the catch. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

          Hello Andy,

Mayer stamps his crosses on the needle.
So stamps the L/50 on the needle too, when use the same tool.

          regards

The front is Mayer, so it isn't a "real" Godet.

Andy, I do have an L/50 that is stamped at the lower end of the needle and not on the cross, so sometimes it was actually done.http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ghlight=L%2F50

I can't say I'm keen on the L/50 MM on the BHM EK in this thread, but that L/50 with the MM on the lower end of the pin is just something else, Ben! My favorite maker!

                            Unusual L/50 marked EK I 1939

                            Hello,

A couple of weeks ago I got this L/50 Godet marked EK I 1939. Is has the same style of marker stamp “L/50” like the EK from Ben,
but this has the stamp in the middle of the back plate.

I have no doubt that the EK is not genuine. From my point of view it is original cross made during the war.
The EK was in a black case with the LDO sign on the top.

Do anyone know something about this kind of Godet L/50 marked EK I 1939 or have seen this cross before?

                            Andy
