    Chris,

I'm going to guess and say Juncker. This hinge is right, the 5-rivets, the catch usually has a long plate, but not always. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But according to the files I have I would say Juncker.

Absolutely beautiful grouping, my friend! I'm very jealous.

1.10.44 is the promotion date to OBERLEUTNANT.
OTTO EITNER won the DKIG on january 6,1945.

              Wonderful group.

No, it is no Godet - 6 rivets. And, it is no Juncker either. I'm afraid Cook may be right. The new photos reveal that the wreath is no Juncker. And, the rivets look nothing like a Juncker. The hinge looked like a Juncker, pin also, and I thought at first that the catch may have been soldered without the catchplate - a variant. But, the wreath is way off for a Juncker.

I'm still searching for a match, but finding none now with the new photos.

                        S&L's have (4) hollow rivets,
                        '134's have (4) hollow rivets,
Deschlers have (6) small solid rivets, (4) small solid on Deschler variant,
Godets have (6) small solid rivets,
Zimmermann's, both 'heavy' and 'light' have (4) hollow rivets,
Junckers have (5) solid rivets, (the center rivet is larger than the other (4) small rivets).

I've checked our fake crosses forum, and found no match for your DK. The rivet count on yours matched Junckers, so I presumed it to be a Juncker. But, with better photos we can rule this possibility out. The wreath and rivet style is wrong.

                          Chris,

Doing some research in Tom's CCC book, your clasp looks like the 'Unknown Maker' #1, with fluted steel pin, pages 244-245. I'm presuming yours has the (6) punch marks. You might want to post photos of it in the Heer badge forum and have Tom take a look at it to be absolutely certain. Here again, without close up photos it's hard to make a good judgment call.

                              Chris,

The only cross whose wreath even comes a little close to yours is the Deschler, but still it is way off in detail....
