    New Juncker EK1

Greetings Iron Cross maniacs. This one arrived today and I'm pretty happy with it. It's an EK1 by C. E Juncker, Berlin. This one is unmarked. I know most are all about maker marked pieces, but I like unmarked items too. Take this cross for example. These days you can never be sure if a Juncker marked piece with L/12 stamped on it had that stamped added later or not. And if that stamp is there, look out. You better be prepared to pay an outrageous sum for a not so rare piece, and who knows if the stamp is good. At current prices it would cetrainly make it worth someones while to add an L/12 stamp. I paid more for this item than I would for most unmarked pinbacks, but I figured it was the only way to add a nice undisputed Juncker to my collection without paying too much, which I wouln't do anyway. Sure it's unmarked, but no one can say Steve Campbell doesn't have a genuine Juncker in his collection. And I'm hundreds of dollars to the good over a marked piece. Thanks to Ben Bijker for a fair deal on this nice cross.

Also, this is my 100th Iron Cross, so I think it was a good one for that milestone.

        Beautiful EK1 Steve!
I have a 1914 EK1 just like it except with a different core, obviously!

        Regards,

Copy that - Congratulations on your 100th EK!!!
Certainly deserves that number being a most desired cross!

No it just seems like that because they always show at the same time. This will be my last new post for awhile because I don't think there's anything else in the mail. It's true, I have spent alot on Iron Crosses lately. Too much actually. But I have no children, and I work away from home making good money. I don't actually have alot of bills. I own my car and haven't spent any money on things like electronics, off road vehicles or other expensive toys. I'm not paying anyone any alimony. I don't smoke, gamble, do drugs and I only drink once every few weeks. EK's are the only real item of militaria I'm picking up next to the odd wound badge and postcard portraits. Also, I rarely buy from overpriced dealers or pay too much just to have a particular item. Think of all the stuff that appears on the estand. I'd love most all of it, but I don't buy it all. I think I've bought smart for 98% of my items and in most cases got good deals. Look at some of the items I've posted lately. How could I say no to some of these hard to find beauties? Blued core Imperials, L/50 screwback, Descler EK1, Deschler EK2 set, those LDO marked Imperials. You just don't see these items everyday for sale. I'm trying to build up a respectable collection and I guess to do that you've got to invest some cash. But, it's true, I've probably gone overboard and should take a step back.

                    As my mum says:
"You can spend your money on worse things."

                    Regards,

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I have most of my collection posted around on different sites. My entire Imperial EK2 collection is posted on Gentleman's military Interest Club, my wound badge collection is posted here on WAF in the WB forum and here is a link to my 1939 Iron Cross collection. It hasn't been updated with my last few pickups but I will try and do that tonight.

All that's left is my Imperial EK1 collection. I haven't posted it all in one thread because I just haven't had the time. I have close to 30 examples now and it's been where I've been putting alot of my money. I like to do a comprehensive post because it keeps all my items stored in one spot for reference, plus people seem to enjoy it. Thanks, Steve

Do you have a picture of all the 1939eks in 1 picture? that would look awesome with 100 EK's

I don't have a recent picture, but I'm returning home in a few days where my collection is stored and I will reorganize it and get some shots.

                              Steve,

That is one beautiful Juncker cross! Congratulations not only on the cross, but also on the 100th EK to your 'not-so-humble' collection. I know this must be one of your favorites.

                              Happy 100th !
