    L/12 Mark For Opinion

    I just recieved this 1914 EK1 that is marked L/12 for Junker, but the cross appears to be by another maker and not a TR era piece at all. I figured I'd post some shots here and get some opinions on the mark.

    Here's the front. Not really looking like a TR piece is it?

      The rear. Not TR era hardware either.

        I think it's an original EK I by Juncker.
        I believe it's the version with typical Juncker crosshatching.

        Here is my Juncker EK II (non-magnetic) to compare.

            Thanks for the input already. I have had opinions from two others and it certainly bears a resembalance to AWS made pieces. Here are a couple of pics of my AWS EK1s for comparison. Do they also have this cross hatching? I have to get to the bottom of this soon. This one here is a flatback like the L/12 I just showed.

              Here's my pillowback by AWS. Any similarities?

                AWS and C.E. Juncker are both from Berlin, therefore I would say it's possible that there was a cooperation between both maker's.

                Cooperation = same EK design

                  Steve,

                  I think the frames on the crosses in posts 6 & 7 look identical, although the cores differ (the crown, the date).

                    Well they are from the same maker but they do use diffrent cores. Any similarity to Junker though?

                      Here is a TR EKI by W&L (core) with a Juncker-type frame...

                        Thanks Robert, but that cross really does resemble a TR made piece. The one I'm posting doesn't. It looks a little earlier.

                          Steve,

                          Here's one I saved from an update. It doesn't have your core, but what do you think about the frame? Cross-hatched like yours? 'L/12' mark.

                            Is this cross hatching exclusive to Junker?

                              No, I see it on some of my other crosses, the '27' being the most pronounced. I see (2) different '27' frames, one with the cross-hatching, one without.
