MINT EK 2nd Class Spanges w/packets

Here are two mint spanges that came from a US GI from Indiana who was stationed in Italy in 44/45. These are part of a larger collection of crosses, badges, etc. which were almost all new in the package. I'm assuming Mr. Davis raided a supply room somewhere! These are the only ones in the packet I have ever seen. The packets are maker marked to "Ludwig Bertsch Karlsruhe". I have the chance to buy them, any thoughts would be appreciated.

              Hi Matt,

I don't like the packets, could you place them in the cases and packets forum.

              Cheers, Thomas

                Hi
spange on left is a 100% unmarked L/18
spange on right is what I call an unmarked '55'. Also 100% correct
Both in very good unissued condition!

not sure on the packets, but if they are OK, I'd be inclined to believe the story too!
                regards

My friend says he has another packet from a different maker so one of these spanges probably has the wrong envelope.
I have seen the GIs paperwork and his photos taken in Firenze, Italy. My friend who bought these at auction about ten years ago is not a German collector at all (he collects sheet music!), and thought he would get a box of German stuff cheap because no one else was bidding. Before I got to know him, he had already sold 2 DKIGs for $500 each I let him know I would help him to appraise the rest of it so that's what brings me here. I am not a cross/medal collector either so I appreciate the input, thanks!

I agree with Jon. Not sure on the packets, two different Spanges. Very nice find on these, they look mint. The packets just make it that much nicer.

I will have to sell one of these immediately to partially finance this deal, and I would like to know what everyone would consider a fair ballpark price for the left spange. Thanks!

Here's the other packet available, does it go with either of these spanges?

                            hell yeah!
                            that's a packet for a '55'! more proof to my '55' theory...

                            regards
