EK1 Spange - cased

I just bought this cased spange.
My question is - who might be a maker of this spange?
Also there is a piece of black leatherette (same original material) attached to hinge - does that mean that case was fixed at some point?

Actually spange is kinda loose in case, looks like hole is too long.
What about back of the case - should i ask guys on "case" forum?
