Hi,

I posted this in the Heer section but have been asked to post in the cross section as well.

Attached is a picture of MAJ Meitzel following his award of the RK (Sep 44). He was 24 at the time.....a very highly decorated officer.

As commented in the Heer/SS-section: This is a great picture of the young major! Showing a magnificent "collection" of awards!

Not too common with pictures of recipients of RK, DKiG, Honor Roll and CCC ++ :-)

If I remember correctly, he won the Nahkampfspange in Gold (CCC in Gold)!

interestingly my archive says that he won the RK as Hptm on 27.07.44. That means he immedialty after the bestowal was promoted to Major so he could wear the Major shoulder boards befor he received the RK.

Here's another photo with all three awards. Konopacki was also awarded the Oakleaves to the RK but that fact is not recorded in Angolia's book.
