Thanks JRA and mdj for posting the extra pics. Will have a look at that other forum later tonight.

Yeah the RK w/ oaks are nice too, but nothing beats a east medal

What a wonderful group with magnificent awards. The General Assault is very hard to find, in the hollow type.

That is the nicest group I have seen in years.

Sorry for taking it slightly offtopic, but just thought I'd share the GAB 50 from RK träger Karl-Erich Berg(also a sturmgeschütz guy)
Sorry for the covered swaztika, its a pic I got from the dealer but its so clear and nice.

            All the best,

How many other soldiers, if any, of any branch, were awarded both the RK and EL at the same time?
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

I haven't seen it before, looks unique to me. I have a group in which the EK1 (spange), RK and Oaks were awarded in just two weeks, but this is amazing. Both on the same day, wonder what he did to earn that.

Leutnant Wilhelm Crinius was awarded the RK and Oaks on the same day - 23rd September 1942 - as fighter pilot with the rank of Feldwebel.

                          That's a beautiful badge, David.
In my opinion, the hollow ones are much more pleasing to the eye than the solid JFS and RK examples.

A bit off topic, but Yamamoto got the RK, the Oaks and the Swords on the same day.

                            Posthumously.

Martin for some reason i missed this thread first time around , i was fortunate to visit Bodo on two occasions where i saw all his awards plus his very comprehensive photo albums which are magnificent , as far as i know all his items were kept by the family.

He was a very friendly guy and of course became famous post war as a Proffessor of Archaeology,

                                cheers
