Spange 2nd class on the E-stand

Could some one please take a look at this one?

I think it looks like the prongs has been resoldered?

    /Flemming

PS I am not questioning its originality, as I have seen them before without the veins on the feather.

If I was buying this, I would want better pictures of the areas in question to be sure.

I think the silver layer reacts different to the tin than to the buntmetall or zinc. Does anyone has an idea about the maker?

I just think it looks like the solder is above the finish and not under the finish as one would expec!

unknown maker as far as I know.
                  but
there is/was one recently on estand of the same design, which was marked. I really hope the new owner comes forward and can somehow read the mm, and tell us. It would be very interesting to know

I 'm thinking the same way Flemming
solder looks to be on the surface instead of the silverwash

                      Authentic

Hello, prongs from my perspective look period, appears like solder has been added post manufacture to strenghten existing weak points. If this is the case it would be difficult to determine when this was actually done.

You can see this similar effect on KM badges (notably Schwerin U-Boot), where the catch and hinge solder has reacted with the gold finish leaving a grey or dark color.

Plus ... what makes us all so certain the finish was always applied after the prongs were soldered on?
