                Dear Frank,

The maker is "4", Steinhauer & LĆ¼ck.

                Cheers, Frank

                      Oh...
                      Frank and/or George ,
Do you have some pointers how I can identify a KVK1 ?
I mean , what maker it is.

                      Best regards,
                      Frank Scheepers

The only way I know of is to compare it to an example with a maker's mark.

I think so too. Once you are familiar with that type of KVK1, you will always recognize it, be it marked or unmarked. No other makerĀ“s cross looked like this, very unique reverse.

                          Cheers, Frank

                              Hello Chris ,
That's... in my opinion due to it being a very late piece.
So less work and materials used on the case.
