        My opinion

Yes, it appears to be a post-war piece.

And what about this one ?

Please give your advice on this one, it lacks quality of manufacture but has all the other Souval details.

          thanks

            Hi Deejay
Well i belive the one you showing is a war time pice. The front match my unmarkt war timer. But mine has a diff pin. The one shown above has a new tooling for the front and also it miss the
normal war time silvering to the front. If the one shown here by me is an post war then maybe the orginal tooling got bad or hurt,
and they did have get a new set. I know Souval did make Ek´s long after the war. I was thinking my maybe could be an early pice!, as some makers did use those pins early on the war.

              I agree

All of the features of deejay's EK 1 are consistent with wartime-made Souvals.

I am now more convinced than earlier (did you notice the sloppy cutting om the silver edge on the lower right of swasika? I have compared it to my other two Souvals, this one doe not live up to the normal quality standards, but as so still an interesting item. Thanks for your (quick) replies.

Well i do belive some makers did trim them by hand whit a file.
Maybe there was a bomb attack wen urs were made
Souval did not make a good job at the ironcore i see urs also
losing paint, to bad. My unmarkt is still super but that has never been out off its case.

                      L58 screwback

What a coincidence, my other L58 screwback has lost paint aswell. I also have an unmarked Souval (the one shown) also in a bad state...

Still all ok on this one. Almost as close to a mint you can get. But its a late war made, the case do miss the back hinge and only have a thin on glued pice off leader.

                              Souval also?

                              Hi Merikson,

do you mean it is also a Souval? That would surprise me. The cross does seem to be the same besides the pin and catch. Here is my polished one for comparison.
It would be a great idea to get all different EK makers Post's on this forum with images and details to every type don't you agree? As I am collecting as many EK1's with all makers as I can find I would really welcome a clean data-base for reference.
