    My first EK1! Opinions requested...

    Colleages,

Here is my first EK1. It is marked 100 on the underside of the Pin. Who is the Maker?

I am looking for some confirmation; is it good?

    Experienced help is appreciated.

    Enjoy the photos.

    Cheers,

    Michael Collins

            Congrats on your first EK1.

I am not well versed on these awards, but the has the paint on the swastika and date been touched up? Seems glossier on certain areas. I look forward to learning about your award and happy New Year!

Its a good cross but the swastika and the 1939 date looks a bit glossy... might just be an effect from the blitz?

Thanks for the compliment. I think the gloss is from being handled and touched;finger oils.
The former owner was a heavy smoker, so there was a bit of nicotine staining on the Frosting. I imagine it has settled on the Black Paint.

This one has a Magnetic Core...

Can anyone else comment of the Cross? Who is the Manufacturer?

                Cheers,

                Michael Collins

                        ...awesome information.

I never considered the gloss possibly being from handling.

Nice EK1 and thanks for sharing!

                          Hello there,

Is there a thin layer of lacquer applied to the front?

Interesting...I could see that being done. However, I think this is finger stuff...

                              Did they do that; Lacquering?
