Thank you Indy ! That's a nicely marked piece. I recently saw a Zimmermann with the stamp '20' on the outside of the pin.

      Here are my family's offerings...one L/52, my '20', and my son's '20'...

        Very nice, Robert

CF Zimmermann's EK1s are very sexy, aren't they?

Yes, I think they have a lot going for them, really classy. The hardware is built for rugged trench warfare, as long as the loops and tunic hold up.

Thank you! That's a rare variation.

Yes, it's the only one I've ever seen marked like that.

                  George,
Do you know if Zimmermann had brass-cored crosses in thier early WWII years, or were they always iron?

That's a perfect stamping, George. A very nice collectible. I assume one of the workers at their shop made an unconscious mistake. But, what a nice mistake...for you.

Wow - that's more variations than I imagined! Great Zimmermaenner, guys! Thanks for sharing them!

Very nice Robert. Yours is in decent shape, but is it just me, or do alot of these seem to show up in poor condition?

Yes, I've passed up many Zimmermanns due to poor core condition. But, I don't think this would hinder me from buying one of the double-stamped variants.

I didn't hinder me. Here's the obverse of my double-stamped example. (I rather like it, actually. )

It looks like it spent some time in the rain and snow of war-torn Europe. I like it too.
