    Frieda Thiersch

    Hello Gents,

I'm about to list on E-Stand, a Promotion Document to an Oberstabsarzt dated 1938 with original signatures of Hitler and Brauchitsch. I noticed on the reverse of the document, in small capital letters, "FH".

Just a long-shot, but was Frieda Thiersch doing documents under a different (maiden?) name prior to the war?

Curious....Does anyone else have similar initials on the reverse of their Promotion Document?

    Cheers,

    Bill

Unless it's a VERY nice promotion document, there's probably zero chance of that.

I've got a few award docs with various initials or numbers handwritten on them, some you can figure out what they're for, others just leave you wondering...

The more that I think about it, it wouldn't necessarily be Frieda Thiersch, as she did the leatherwork. The lettering was done by Franziska Kobell.

Hmmmmm......I wonder what HER maiden name was?

Just odd that a very neat and lonely "FH" would be inked onto the reverse.

"FH" come on guys (and I guess the odd girl) everyone know that stands for

        "Fuhrer Headquarters"

The guy who sold me Eva Braun's soiled undies told me that was it meant when I made it a package deal and bought the original (not the copy) ot the Grand Gross of the Knights Cross and its award document that was given to Himmler and AH was on the back of it as well.

Thanks for the "FH" joke.......although that doesn't sound like a bad acronym. The document is from Detlev, so I'm not worried about it being bogus. I looked at the letters under a 60 power magnifier - it's inked in by hand. As I said, any other owners of Promotion docs prior to 1939 who might take a peek at the reverse of theirs.....let me know what's there.

          Cheers,

          Bill
