    Sweet

Glad you located my Award. I had to leave it behind at a Black Tie affair in Berlin circa. 1961. I found myself disrobed in the main bed chamber of the Hostess enjoying the horderves that were not being offered downstairs by the Host. Unfortunately the Hostess was one of the most expressive Females I have ever encountered and her excessive wailing drew the attention of the Host!

Upon hearing the all to familiar mechanical click of the trigger of a hunting shotgun and and the abuses and intentional misuse of my proper Christian Name and Title I felt it best to leave my personal belongings behind and leap out the nearest window.

After shimming down a copper drain pipe ,studded with sharp rivets, I made a naked sprint across a gravel driveway that would have left Jim Brown breathless. Having made my escape and licked my wounds I realized my I had left my lucky Knight's Cross on the Ladies bombe chest of drawers.

I have always lamented the loss of my Gold RK with Rhinestones that served as a social key to many a fine Ladies Bed Chamber. I wish you the best of luck, as this Cross seved me well. Just never take it to a Militaira Show, you will find yourself an object of ridicule.

He or she who make this of gold could think the same about US collecting or spending so much money in pure IRON.

If I have the money I would like to make one pure "white" gold frame and pure golden gold core BUT WITH MY ON CHARGES ON IT. Just as a piece of jewelry. Not a German Military Award replica, but a Jewerly cross base on the German award.

But of course I do not have the money and if I have it maybe I would spend it on a pure piece of silver and iron. (a KC).

Some moths ago I asked via internet to a shop in London more or less how much a cross like that would cost (white and golden gold). Same size of the KC but with other charges on it. The answer was about 2000 British Pounds. A lot, a lot less that a pure silver and iron KC.

So, history is heaviest than GOLD.

        Regards and Happy Christmas

        Edgar
