This old veteran just came in the mail. The suspension loop has the correct 100 stamp. The swastika and date are the smallest size of any crosses I have. The frame appears to be brass with hardly a trace of neusilber at all. Why is this? I've never had a cross that didn't have a frame that was silver in color. Were some frames neusilber plated over brass? Is this some sort of tarnish? I'm not going to clean this one...
