    DKiG by Deschler opinions?

    Dear fellow members,

I would like to hear your opinions on this Deschler DKiG which has been offered to me.

It comes with its original case and the seller says that the recipient of this cross is known.

I would really like to hear your opinion on this DKiG.

    Thanks,
    Pascal

I know they could have that type of hook and plate, on the four rivet.

But the wreath looks 'funny' to me and looking in my single reference of Gordons book, I don't like it

            Marcus

Of course I don't need to say pay no attention me, I'll sit back and learn. If it is OK, WOW what condition.

            Good Luck

Even if I am not an expert, I can say it looks ok. If it's a fake is a very well done one. It looks exactly like the one shown on Grodon Williamson's book on page 193, same retaining pin, same retaining hook. An d it looks great. It would be a very good present for my next birthday!!

              Best regards

                Thank you for your opinion.

I think it looks right as well. It has all the typical marks of a Deschler but I would really like the like to hear some more opinions on this DKiG because in this mint condition it looks to good to be true.

I agree guys 99.9% like on page 193 of Gordons book, but on page 194 there is an earlier Deschler cross but the wreath is not like that of the example in the book.

So further investigation is due, there seem to be variations of the '1' maker mark and of course the back. I'm sure there are slight variations on the wreath too.

I still don't like the wreath, regardless of possible variations.

Do you have any dimensions and the weight at liberty or can you get them.

                      Hi guys,

This were I make myself look a fool, but I feel certain if it was me this as far at it goes with the information available is a reproduction, or rather I wouldn't be happy with it.

I have a near perfect 134 reproduction, so I've a vested interest in learning about these. On this one a late war Deschler four rivet the wreath lacks detail in my opinion it looks more faceted against the red as oposed to showing the detail of the leaves and bands gently protruding but still keeping the circumferential continuity.

Type in 'German Cross' on search and on page 2 you will find Steve T's DK there are one or two others and of course the forum article on the DK, see what you think.

But for me I would not buy this. If I felt I wasn't sure I wouldn't have answered. The people in the know will soon answer and Deschler owners.

                      Kind regards,

                      Marcus

                        Hi Pascal,

                        very interesting this cross!

This is a 2nd pattern Deschler's DK in tombak.

Nobody can say there is really something strong wrong , mark "1" -1941- wreath-svaz-rivets- hinge and catch's type are right but ....there are some little points not nice for me => hinge's attachment bad done , catch wrong position and a bit different, metal is not looking as in tombak ( maybe a very late one?)

What I am sure the case can be original but not its case.

can be very important measurements and weights in this case.

personally I would like to wait for a better more sure one.

for comparison follow are particularys of my 2nd pattern one.

Thank you for your opinions. I decided to pass on this one. This means I’m still looking for a good DKiG. So if anyone has one for sale he can always contact me by PM or email on Langemarck@pandora.be.
