Possibly the lighting used? Or maybe patina? Just 2 thoughts....

Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

          Hello

It is as described, a golden RK of the KVK. Sold now as well for €22500. The Golden Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross was established in late 1944 by Hitler, with approximately only 21 issued by May 1945.

A very nice, rare and desirable piece.

          Regards
          David

            Hello,

            An original one IMHO.

I have read that it was made, but never given to anyone. Maybe it should be given at end of war.
Some of then was sold by Hermman Historical AH.

                Is it makermarked with Deschler?

What I know there were only two makers of gold, Deschler and Zimmermann. And the piece above is not a "20".

If I'm not mistaken, only two individuals recieved the Golden RK KVK. The image appears to have been flat-scanned. Does this cross scream quality, given the awkward swastika?

                  chers

This is a piece I have known for some years (but regretfully, never owned).

There was once one for sale on the forum, I think it was $10,000 at the time in around 2003 when there was a 'high end' e stand segment.

Was there also a gold RK KVK without swords too ?

I remember reading somewhere Speer had something to do these, but they were never produced. Just my 2 cents.

Since such piece(es) are extremly rare the buyer's approach shall be VERY cautious. My knowledge of the golden KVK is too litle to reasonably justify its originality. However, if it was the original cross it would be STUNNING piece in anyone collection! - Anyone who could afford it

The gold RK/KVK certainly existed, and is mentioned by Albert Speer in his autobiography. The only ones that I have encountered have been from the Schloss K. , as indeed was this one. In my view they are the only ones to consider as they are basically only a gilted standard silver version.
