I'm officially ashamed of my rampant jealousy with all the people who have posted photos of their Knight's Crosses.
Many of you know that I lost my collection in a fire, some time back, and that I'm rebuilding....The new collection has been officially dubbed "The Phoenix Collection", by Raymond Griffiths, and I've decided that it needs a Ritterkreuz to make it something special, the way it USED to be.....
Receiving Dietrich's book certainly hasn't helped quell my larcenous and murderous jealousy toward the KC owners here, so....before my head explodes, and in the spirit of the upcoming holiday season, I'd like half (...not all, just half...I don't want to be greedy) of the members here, to donate just one dollar each to the "I Agree, a Ritterkreuz Would Make the Perfect Holiday Gift For Bob" fund.
If you can afford more, make it two dollars, but no more...I don't want people to be perceived as trying to curry favor with me.....
Donations can begin immediately. As of the posting of this message, there are only 25 more days before Christmas, and if I purchase from Europe, we all know how parcels can be delayed, so........
The only exception that I will entertain in regard to the donation limit, is the donation of a Knight's Cross, itself.....There are a number of members who have more than one in their collection, and may be moved by the joy of the season (not to mention the tax deduction) to donate one to the cause. Doing so will relieve all the other members of the burden of donating, and make you a true hero in their eyes.....After all, isn't THAT what Christmas is all about, these days?.....

Hopefully, I can replace most of what I lost, someday (except my Boker SS Dagger....prices are FAR too high for that...
I promise I'll hang a small brass plate above the cross with the inscription: Donated by Dave Kane. Okiee??
