    more L15 stuff sighted

    Dear all,

At a dealer, I saw on Saturday a KVKX, I. class with the maker mark L15 on the needle. It was the same incuse relief mark as we know it from the infamous L15 Iron Crosses I. class. Needle/hinge was also the same. Finish, detail, etc. looked fine, nothing suspicious. Showed just the right amount of age as you would expect it for an unquestionably real KVK1.
My question: Is this KVK1X marked L15 also a repro made by the same faker as the EK1 (Floch, I presume)?

    Cheers, Frank

Definitvely yes. I have the opporutnity to see these KVK and they undoubtedly come from the same faker. Other markings were also produced with the same standards of manufacturing (L21 L73 if my memory serves). This latter point is the proof that these items must be considered as being fakes : indeed, why could we find the same construction features on these awards while the manufacturer is different ?
    best regards

Thanks, Denis. You finally made a good point about the L15s and their "brothers". I had not heard about these other markings with the same features yet. Too bad, the KVK really looked great, excellent patina and detail. If it was not for the information I got in this forum, I would have definitely bought it. My EK1 L15 at home wanted so desperately to have a brother

For the record, who are all of the brothers (and sisters) of this illegitimate family of fakes. The family that features the incuse maker mark on the coke bottle style pin.

        L15, L11, .... ? Others?
