EK2 - Opinions / Maker ID Help Please!

Hi Everyone,

I recently acquired this EK2: however, I am struggling to ID the maker; having said that, I'm sure I've seen the unusually thin and slightly oversized suspension ring somewhere before.

Oh and I do think the EK is period, though please correct me if I'm mistaken.

A maker-mark perhaps (line cut into the ring, adjacent the solder seam):

Hi,

the maker mark looks strange to me.

Perhaps a misstaken stamp?

But the cross is made by Friedrich Orth, Wien.
