I tend to agree, jon. The metal looks inferior, and there is softening to the detail. The numbers in the box look anything but flat, like a cast, and the swastika is really soft in detail. I could be wrong, but IMO, it's a copy/reproduction piece.

The '18' is bazarre. jon, you've got eyes like an eagle.

I'd like to see how the prongs are attched to the back, a photo.

I will have it in my hands on Thursday next week I`ve agree with dealer for 7 days inspection period, so I will make photo of reverse - he said that is marked 800 also.
We will see.

I take it you've already purchased it, and it's in the post coming to you. I'd personally refuse delivery of this piece, at the same time inform the dealer that it's on it's way back to him for credit to your account. The revelation of these stamps has me 100% against this piece.
