Knights Cross with oak leaves & swords on eBay... Already at $710!

    Hey Guys,

I just saw this Knights Cross with oak leaves and swords on ebay. I think this is a fake, but I am not sure. Have a look: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...TODAY.m238.lVI

If it is a fake as I suspect, who would possibly make a bid of $710? and there is 18 hours left... Opinions wanted.

look at the OLS marking , IMO not good
Blurry pic's from the KC , Buyer ID private .......

    These original's sell for +30.000 Euro not 700 $ .
This is what I think .

The photos are not the best,... it cant be seen but a few days ago here in Melbourne i have seen an original period Oak Leaves and swards, but on this picture the sward is not correct....? see what the more expenced collectors say, but id never buy it for that money, OR, the guy has good photos and when you pay him, he will send you a very bad one, hope you get me with that... but i think more better photos would tell the reall story....

      Cheers :

      Les.

So what's the verdict. Good or bad? Or can it not be deduced from the photos available?

If it goes as a repro, wonder what price will close as. It is sells aa a legit piece, with legit oak, ribbon, id be very interested to see wbat it brings.

Either way id like to see what she seels for and if this thing is legit. I had seen that cross on ePeep last night and was thinking the same things.

Repro case and ribbon, late 1957 pattern cross and swords....not worth $200

Who would bid that much... Well PT Barnum said there was a sucker born every minute. All the warning signs are there: bad photos, a wordy decription that says nothing, no return, and hidden bidders.

"The cross is 100% silver." I guess that's why the frame is marked '800' . The new owner didn't lose money - he gave it away.

Ebay seems these days to be full of scam artists and just in general a big fence for lifted goods.

I remember poking around on there for WWII stuff before I came here. Luckly I never bought any of the stuff I was usually looking at - but I just as easily could have been one of those people (eventually) being ripped off. Such a shame to see people getting duped for that kind of money..

But as long as we do not show swaztikas or SS-runes, it´s OK for the ebay-owners...
