L/53 War Merit Cross 1st Class + strange pin

    Hello,

I bought this on the off chance it may be unusal, no great loss on the pennies.

Has anyone got one like this, know of this stlye of pin or a L/53 so I can compare maker marks. I've been through threads, chances are I missed an L/53 thread.

Or can you tell that it's fake straight away, which is a probable guess in my book.

    Kind regards,

    Marcus

Or is it a s*** house rat in a barrel, I can't remember and old saying our RSM used to say on the ranges. It means you have very good eyes.

Does anyone have a L/53 pic, I'm not bothered if this is fake just a lucky dip, it looks a bit rough dosen't it.

                      Kind regards,

                      Marcus

I think it looks abit rough aswell yes.
Regarding my eyes, I was the top marksman in my platoon.

Mads I wasn't top but I got my marksman too, it took me 3 years of top marks to get it, I know for a fact I missed some at 300 m but the dirt kick below the target wound knock down the 'falling plate.' 58 out of 60 on my last one, the SUSAT boys it was out of a 100.

Back to the medal, anyone with any pic's of a L/53, as Mads agrees it's a bit rough looking, and why put on such a pin perhaps it's an early fake ?

                          Kind regards,

                          Marcus

Any L/53's out there, it's always bad news when you guys are silent.

I know you know, confirm this then I think the hinge and pin are like nothing I've seen. The finish is poor and the detail lacking, in areas. Where details are obvious it is not of the quality that is ecountered on known other original makes.

                              Am I right please.

                              Kind regards,

                              Marcus
