    KVK 1st Class - Opinions

Just picked up this KVK 1st Class. Unfortunately it has seen better days and it is missing it's pin. I was hoping that someone might be able to place a manufacturer on it, based on construction method. I'll post photos below.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

It looks like it might have had a round catch.

I can rule out it being a Julius Bauer '43', a Deumer '3' and a Deschler '1'. The profile just doesn't fit. It could be an S&L...?? If you do a search in this forum under 'KVKI' you should come up with something that resembles this. It's really hard to tell without the hardware intact.

Yeah, I know it is tough without the hardware. I was hoping there might have been some details that would have attributed the piece to a particular MM.

I'll scroll through and see if I match it to a MM based on whats left of the hardware.

I'm posting some additional close-up photos.

I have been through the site trying to research it, but I'm having a tough time. Hopefully one of the cross guru's can aid me in this.

                    Hmm, tough one.

It can be an unmarked cross or with the mm on the pin. The catch, hinge and sword hilts look like a mm65 Klein & Quenzer.

On the other hand the cross looks like a zincer and zinc K&Q's usually have integrated catch and hinge plus there's that little L/15 sort of plate under the catch.

Yeah, I agree it might be unmarked or pin marked. Thats why I was hoping someone might recognize the hinge and clasp assembly.
