It was one of the best MAX shows I have been to. FAR better IMHO than the last few. That said, I was very focused on finding a last gem for the book, and also on finding new fake Flaks. I hate to say as far as war badges, it was about 80% fakes. And as far as RKs, pretty much the same cast of charachters, though I was not looking for crosses, so maybe there were others out there. But the location was great, the hotel nice, lots of places to eat. EVERYONE went out to Outback last night. Imagine the entire restaurant full of Americans, Germans, Belgians, Russians, etc. all with Nazi stuff. PRICELESS!

I too had the pleasure of leafing through a 'prototype' of Dietrich's new work. A+! What quickly engrossed me was the huge quantity of images and illustrations.... it seemed like every page had something to view, in addition to the informative text. It 'sucks you in', once you open it up. Glad I have a presentation volume reserved.

It was great to meet both Dietrich and his tolerent wife. She put up with eight obnoxious guys at Outback Steak House! And from now on, I call Dietrich 'the young Leo'..... he was born the same year, and month, as I. But I beat him by eight days.

The fellowship among all made the show! And yes, goodies were to be found. I'm sure they will appear over the next week, in this, and the other Forums.

Hi Bob,

Not sure if they found any 'sleepers'. There were some nice ones to choose from, however. The top end dealers had them. You may have seen it already, but Wolfe-Hardin had the Goring Cassette, Doc, and Cross to the Grand Cross, in display. There were a couple of Swords w/ Diamonds to select from. I particularly liked the Goring P/O on the W-H table. No diamonds. Just gold and silver. Same style eagle as in the brilliants P/O awards.

Yes, I was wondering that too. Fakes are offered for sale in abundance on the anonymous internet but with these guys one is standing face to face with them. I'd find it difficult not to say something to be honest.
