    He also said,

you have definitive proof (ie professional appraisal) that these items are
not authentic will I accept the item(s) back with full refund "

That's bad news to me right there--who is a professional? What will the buyer accept as a "condition" of non-originality?? I would advise you to ask everyone on the forum about this cross--then ask if a forum memeber has a good one that they would part with. Conditions on returns are a bad thing---esspecially ones like this

        Tyler,

I second Chris' opinion. That guy's return policy sounds pretty sketchy to me. I personally would not buy the cross on those pictures or that "garantee".
        Just my 2 pfennigs.

I have to go whit George i cant see Souval in those pics, beside
the pin. And that was a real bad return police, i wounder what he will take as an expert?. Only way to judge ok or not is a clear front pictuer, those pins can have been used by more than one maker.

it is not the pin that counts. george's ek's needle is not typical for souval but for steinhauer und lück!! still, it is also a souval!
sometimes makers used different types of needles!
tyler's cross is typical (also the needle) for souval.

                    BAIL OUT!!

This isnt a refund policy, its an ultimatum!

This guy is setting you up. This is NOT a return policy. You shouldnt have to pay out $50 for an appraisal plus postage to satisfy this goofball that it isnt real. What about a unconditional return policy? What if you just dont like it? You can only send it back if its a fake, after you have it appraised? Screw that!

At this point, you have several things working against you.

One, you are buying a maker unknown cross, chances are that you will never know who made it. There goes your benchmarks. Posting crappy pictures wil be an excersise in futility. Any one of us can say "It appears to be real"..or not.

If this cross is a fake, and even if you do get an appraisal, what is to stop the guy from denying the credibility of whoever you sent it to? What if he has bad blood with that person? With slimeball antics like these, this guy is ready to bail at the first email. Why pay to authenticate his stuff?

I plead with you not to get stuck in between this guy and his iron cross. These are plentiful, with pedigree. Wait, and you wont be sorry.

                        Mark...

... that was some excellent advise.

Tyler, I'm glad you decided to bail out on this one.

Mark is right, hang in there, be patient and you'll find the right piece for the right price. They always turn up.

Something I wish I had done when I first started collecting.
