Is it possible to get shots with better light and clarity? If it is a digital camera - try the macro setting to have the camera focus on close up objects.

          No, not at all. Why?

The quality of the pictures is so bad, it´s hard to say if it´s an original KC at all, and even harder to tell the maker.

You're right the picture quality is poor.

The pictures were taken from a television programme on spitfire pilots who flew in the Battle of Britain, probably made only 5yrs ago?

An RTK was interviewed. He was awarded the RK after his 20 kill during the Battle of Britain.

He was obviously still very proud of his RK, and for a brief moment it showed him holding it, and placing it on his neck. That's when I managed to get the above photos.

My comment wasn´t meant to make fun of you, just a statement of fact. Just to make that clear.

                  Hi Allan,

of course it can only be a fairly educated guess (or better a wild a$$ one...) but based on the ring base and the time (fall 41) when he got it I would say that the chances are very high for a Juncker - but the loop tip doesn't quite fit.

                    It's a 'rounder'.
An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

My bet would be Juncker also. I saw that program some time ago. The pilot also described the eagerness for the young pilots to achieve the award of the Knight's Cross, they referred to it as having a sore neck, or something similar.

My vote would be for Juncker! Based on the thin but prominant Swaz, ring and the inner corners being somewhat 'finished' it sort of voids a S&L.
                        Regards,
                        Dave

                          Agreed.

An interesting point made in the same documentary was that some pilots craved the RK so much they exaggerated the number of kills they made to get the RK.
