Thank you Dez, and don't I know it

    Brett,

I'll try to breifly explain, no no no no no no sir do I shop, buy or have dealings* with the gentleman whom sold me all my crap.

I only became a member in March of this year, prior to that, in fact just a few weeks before that I'd happily spend thousands in there.

It's only until I came on here I found out they were all fakes, I bought these over 13 or so years. Some good, basicaly all bad as we can see.

I thought these crosses were Ok so didn't waste time posting them before, who wants to these they are nothing special I thought.

I tried to get my money back from him and did to an extent, a sum of it was in exchange, like for like or to value of. So this I did, this has been the only dealings*I have had with him, I haven't and would not buy from him again, or indeed dealers in the UK at this moment in time.

I'm happy in the fact we came to some compromise, small collection now or not. Further pieces I thought were OK are wrong too. A couple of the exchanges are wrong a 1250 pounds Honour Roll (Navy) and a DD helmet 600 pounds.

Thus, I must keep in contact to go back and reclaim my money.

The only time I bought from some where else, 'Regimentals' a bronze CCC this turned out to be fake also.

Why buy from one dealer, I can visit the the shop and look a the bits I buy, he's reccomened in two books and so on many reasons.

I have books, I could propably qoute the history and many other things about them to you without looking it up. I wasn't aware of other books on fakes or originals and knew no other colllectors of this.

I feel stupid, dumb and such a fool as it is trust me Brett I want to cut my ties with him. The subject of this collecting is more complex than I ever envisaged in a life time, I'm only just learning in reality because all I knew was and is false.

For now while I learn by choice although limiting myself, I will only buy from members and the e-stand.

I hope that clears that up,

    Kind regards,

    Marcus

These are the only reference books I had or could get, as you see I did enquire to find more thats how I got a copy of Angolias book. I've only been on the net a year or so and never had much faith with using my card over it.

      Hi Marcus,
Dez had some good advice, listing some good references to start with, plus the forum is invaluable to learn from. Keep asking questions as you can never learn enough in this hobby. Try to learn before you buy as it is getting harder to re-sell some of this stuff these days.
Also it is easier if you stick to a certain area of Third Reich militaria like EK's, U-boat badges, etc. as you can concentrate and remember what to look for in an original piece. It's good fun to find an original item at a reasonable price, but very discouraging when you get burnt for several hundred dollars.
Hang in there and good luck with your future purchases,

      Brett
