Those are known as "Floch" fakes. Please take a look in the fake gallery. The most common fakes can be found there, including this type of fake.

Although the first impression is good, I think it is a Floch-Kopie

Compare the cross to the pics here (at the time of posting it was assumed to be an original, but it is a Floch)
and you will see what I mean.

Damn! I examined it very closely and compared it with your Floch-article Peter (looked for overcrossed ribs on the beading, etc, etc.. Gotta have a chat with the seller..

          Thanks guys!

            Hi Friedrich,
Sorry you got the bad news...
I see Peter Lukacs (Military Antiques Stockholm) has one of these on his site..
It's marked 'on hold'... was it by chance this one?
            Regards - Danny

Nope.. I will not mention the sellers name. It's probably his first major slip-up, he was very sorry and is giving me a full refund. He even offered me crosses from his own collection as compensation, and I have no problems with buying from this seller again. Besides, it's my fault too, I should have paid more attention to the cross as a whole and not just to the small details.. It's almost identical with the "49" for crissake, the fat ring and all..
