2 EK1s Worn at the Same Time?

On page 184 of Gordon Williamson's book, The Iron Cross of 1939, there is a picture of Generalmajor Paul v Felbert. He is wearing a EK1 spange and not one but two Imperial EK1's, one right above the other. What's up with this?

I posted this pic a long time ago Steve and I thought it was two EK1 as well. I believe the concensus was the bottom one was not an EK1 but a MACKLENBERG – SCHWERIN, WAR MERIT CROSS 1914.

I'll have to look harder. That 2nd cross you posted is awesome.
