Differences between Deumer and Zimmermann

in one of the threads you posted the links of, Robert, I found this:

Here's a few pics I hope will help. I thought I had a Zimmerman but now it looks like I have another Deumer. The one I recieved yesterday will be referred to as Deumer 2. Here's the catch of Deumer 1.

Here's Deumer 1 with the pin open. This one doesn't open well and I don't think I'll try again.

Understandable, don't force it! - can you get a shot of that view (the first one you posted in this thread, to see if the needle is rounded in that key area?

Deumer 1 hinge. If you compare the two hinges you will see they are attached differently, with one being upside down, or opposite of the other.

Finally, here's my 2 Deumers side by side. Deumer 2 is on the left and Deumer 1 is on the right with the copper coating exposed on the date and swaz. I hope this helps.

I don't have a shot now but the area you refer to is rounded like yours on Deumer 2 but not quite as much on Deumer 1, but the difference is very subtle, and more rounde on one side.

thanks for posting, Steve, Robert pointed it out pretty good, the lines on the hinge and the needle rounding in that marked area and the needle tip should give a good clue in order to determine if it's a Zimmermann or a Deumer.
