I think it's an original EK II, but no Zimmermann.
Zimmermann EK's have another number design (smaller numbers), like Godet.

            Regards

            Grueni

Thanks, The number is hard to make out, even using a magnifying glass. The vendor said he could make out a 2 and thought he saw a 0.

                Hi!

I agree with Grueni. It's not a Zimmermann. It's like it is with the IC1st class from Zimmermann an Godet.
The crosses by Zimmermann 2nd and 1st Class are identically constructed with those by Godet.

For example a can show you a IC 2nd Class by Godet.

                Regards
                Andreas

                    Hi Michael!

Hard Question. I've searched a few hours in my private Database and i didn't found crosses with similarities.
I've only pictures from one mm20 EK 2 which is also a questionable piece.
I think we cannot say for sure who is the manufacturer of your cross.
What we can say is that it's a original Iron Cross 2nd class from good quality and fine condition.
I collect Iron Crosses since a few years and IMO crosses like yours can be a good and interesting part in your collection.
Be sure that the day will come and you will know which maker built this cross.

                    Regards
                    Andreas

Thanks again Andreas. I saw a couple other with similar maker marks being discussed on another forum, but there was no consensus on whether or not they were from Zimmerman.I guess I will have to use better optics to see the maker mark.
