If it's a fake, please tell us why. It has a lot of correct details to it. I looked in the known fakes gallery and saw none like this.

Hi ok firstly to me it doesnt seem even remotely symetrical, Might be the photos as they are poor, 2nd i personally dont like the hinge it just doesnt do it for me, 3rd why if its right is someone supplying such poor pictures? 4 going on these pictures alone i think the materials its constructed from are poor this may be down to general wear and tear/patina etc but it just doesnt look right to me sorry

This hinge and pin system is wrong.
In England is a web site where you can buy many badges (all fakes) with the same hinge and pin system.

You can get this EK version in militaria321 for 14,- €, too.

That cross is just plain goofy in every respect. There's enough decent (and real) EK1's out there...no need to waste time and money on that piece of junk...Just my opinion for what it's worth

I would say junk.
When looked at it is not symetrical, as one would expect from a real period EK.

The beading lack the details.

Also the date on the front looks really odd.
But that is just my 2 cent.
