    EK2 Spange without Veins...

I got word that a large number of the Iron Time has been shipped now. I don't own an issue myself, but I've been told that the Spanges without lines/veins on the feathers are to be found on pages 287 & 292.
Here's mine without veins, hope to come to a conclusion on this piece that way.
    Spange Experts, please step forward!

I'd like to start this discussion by saying I personally like this particular spange. I see nothing which raises a red flag, neither do I find it in any of my own files, or the fakes gallery files which leads me to believe it's not an original. It has all of the characteristics of being a high quality Third Reich piece. It appears to be a proper die forged, nickel silver plated piece.

                Hi
                I'm with Robert
I believe there were 2 dies for the L/18 EK2 spange, this one, and an almost identical one 'with viens'.
                I like it alot
                regards

I also agree. Offhand I can't remember seeing one like this, but I like it and wouldn't have a problem adding one to my collection.

jon, you're absolutely right. Look at that 60+ year patina. Same square-ended pronges too.
