Thanks for identifying the unmarked Wachtler & Lange. You would think that having a marked an unmarked together I would have enough sense to figure that one out myself or at least consider it! Not the first time I could not see something right before my eyes. Any thoughts on whether the K&Q vaulting is original to the cross? Any distimction between domed and flat cases as far as early and late? I went through some threads and as far as I can tell, there is no obvious correlation. I suspect the domed cases may be arly but they overlap.

            Thanks, Richard

              Resurrecting an old thread here.

This cross (pictured below and above in the thread) was identified as a W&L by the pin system. Of interest to me is that it also has the traditional W&L crunch-bead frame, but upside-down:

Anyone else ever see this? It must've happened more than once.
              Best regards,

                    Hello
all sets are very nice !
the W&Ls are really the best !!
about cross marked "65", in my opinion it is a hand vaulted, you can see it because inner corners are lifted, the factory never produced vaulted crosses as I have seen until today.
The Zimmermann (double marked 20 L/52) has some thing strange in front side, seems to have the swaz re-worked or perhaps some one tried to re-work.
About case, yes, in my opinion too domed case is the early type.
