Parade mounted EK 2 on e-Stand

Does anyone have any thoughts about the parade mounted EK 2 being offered here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=227705 ?

The edges of the ribbon don't look good IMO, I would like to see better pics of the cross in natural light but the arms look too straight.

It has nothing to do with straight arms or whatever else. However, the cross is a simple Floch Fake.

The "3" on the back proves its a Floch!

            Hi,

Thanks for the comments. Posting has been removed in the e-stand.

I am familiar with the EK1 Flocks, for my edification can someone elaborate on what to look for in a EK2 Flock?

The Floch EK 2 has all of the characteristics of the Floch EK 1. Look for an enlarged lower loop on the "3" of "1939". Also, the date itself is set very low on the lower arm, close to the rim. Note too the beading on the right (as you view it) of the lower arm just where it begins descending from the center of the cross. There is some slight spacing between the beads there that is not present on the other arms. Finally, I don't know what the frames are made of, but they often have a sort of yellowish tint that you don't see on real EK 2s.
              Here's another Floch EK 2:

The rings have sometimes been marked "49".

                    Dear George,

Thanks much. I have always looked and the hinge/pin construction to determine Flock EK1s hence my mistake on the EK2. The additional info is much appreciated.

Gary's EK doesn't have the issue with the "3" from what I can see. However, that 1939 date is REALLY low. For my own interest, as Im not and educated EK collector, what other characterstics asside from the date on Garys, make it stand out as a J. Floch?

I've only got a handful of Ek1's and II's in my collection. Fortunately, i've never been Floch'd. I guess one really needs to be astoot in this area or they can easily get burned.

I'll stick to my sword collecting.

                            thanks for info,
                            Tom
