    ek1 help

    Hi all,

As this is my first post i' ll introduce myself I am Rick from the Netherlands and am quite new to collecting, my fascination for WWII history kinda drove me into this hobby.

I need some help on identifying a ek1 cross i bought. I just started collecting and got my hands on this ek1 below. At the time i bought it i thought it was a original but back then i at all had not much knowledge what to look for to distinguish fake from original. Working on that now

Could anyone give me some tips? My best guess is that it's fake.

I am still working on some better photo's but for now i will post the best ones i have.

As you can see it looks like the cross has been splitted in half and put back together and also on the back of the cross it look slike the pins were soldered back on or something similar.

    Any help/advice would be appreciated.

    Thanx & greetz,

    Tiomnajasila

I agree with Mikael, it looks pretty good from the Obverse, but the reverse reeks of 57ish hardware.

Thanx for the answers guys. I just got a new book that will help me detecting the fakes. Called detecting the fakes as well

Ordered a second book but that wasn't in stock at the moment.

Thanks again for sharing your expertise.
