cased ek1 mm 20 help and opinions please

    Hello!

Well ive been looking at this cased ek1 for a while, now whats making hesitate on it is a number of things, no doubt my inexperience here but the core has a strange finish, it looks possibly new paint? and whats with the red tinge on the swastica?

although unfortunately the seller has had a mishap and some paint has flaked off, see pics at the bottom.

what are your opinions, still a worthwhile piece and what would be a good price, i'am really unsure what i should pay, i dont like asking on here but i would like to see if the sale price was good.

heres the pics thanks for the help again!

I'd bet a donkey's leg that thing has been cleaned, and definitely repainted. The case looks very good, but I'd subtract from the price for the "renovation" work.

Ohhhhh, those Zimmermann's are my favorite crosses. Better left unrestored, original!

I think the core has a repaint. On that alone I would walk away. The case is clean but the cross has issues. Is that rust on the swaz coming through? As for the price, way too high in my mind, especially considering the issues. Just wait for a good one. Ask yourself what would you pay for these items seperatley. It wouldn't add up to $480 if you considered it properly. Best to be patient. You should be able to get a better example for less money.

I second that. This was probably an "okay" cross, but somebody just about ruined it. And for that price.
