    German Cross in Gold Authenticity

    As I can´t judge authenticity myself, photos have been edited to preserve seller.

                The backplate is CupAl, and has some bubbling or lifting. That is a good sign, but it is impossible for me with the photos sent. A good shot of the date and a close up of the rivits would help.

                The bubbling is from moisture getting between the layer of copper and the aluminum base and causing the aluminum to oxidize, with the oxidation growing between the layers and raising the thin copper.

                  I personally know the cross.
                  I almost bought it myself.
                  It's a genuine DK, no problems with it.
                  Just very worn.
