    EKII - first pattern spange

    Well guys, the postman came by here today (I was beginning to think he only delivered to Robert) and brought along this little beauty. The reverse looks pitted in the photo. In fact it's not. It's smooth but it does have decades of grunge on there. As the ribbon was attached without being punctured by the prongs I was able to slide it out. It too is "grungy". Feels like a celebratory beer was spilled on it. So without further ado here is my new treasure.

        I like the high detail on this spange. Very nice! One day I hope to find such an early version for my own collection.

                  It's properly called a "short vein" which is what I'm sure Jim meant.
