    ek1 clasp from estand

    Hi guys,

I'm not really the clasp guy, but would love to learn more about these. Anyway with my limited knowledge about these badges I didn't really think this one looked good, would love to hear a second opinion.

I do not like it either. Unmarked L20 Floch fake? Does the Pin bend like butter?

I havn't got my files on hand... the front looks believeable-ish, but the reverse look Floch.
'I can't make out the mm' isn't a good enough description regarding these. If there is an mm, I'd like to know what it is! As we know 99% of ALL spange mms, I'd push the seller to get his loupe out.

The back of this badge looks really strange.
But some closer straight on shot would really help a lot.

            Mark,

            No need. It's 100% fake.

yep, just checked my fake's file, it's in there

here's another one, offered for sale at the moment:
(same as the combo in TheIronTime) quite a scarey one with the right patina...

I saw that one as well.

Besides the unbelievably shoddy soldering job, that hinge and pin scare the crap out of me !!

I guess you could say a "field" made conversion, but geez ... something like an EK1 would deserve better than this???

and of course the spange is a repro
and what happened to the EK1's frame?
(sorry for drifting off subject everyone)

This same 1st class clasp to the EKI is in the repro section of Gordon's book on page 465, at top of page, marked L/22, and one more with L/21, but both with slightly different hardware, but very same obverse...

Thanks for the opinions and added discussion; I'm learning albeit too late in this case.

                            Thanks, Mark

Hopefully Detlev will chime in. Could his new COAs be getting faked already?
