    Thanks everyone....my suspicions are confirmed...i have just bitten the bullit and got my knife out!!!!!!!Sliced through 1 of the worn points with relataive ease...Looks like a soft alloy....Ahhh well...looks like the keys will be going on this 1 !!!!!...Thanks everyone for their help and comments and happy hunting.

      Thanks Luud....that looks a real beauty...yep mine is a soft alloy of some sort..just taken a knife to it...Ahh well...not to worry...happy hunting and thanks for your help.

        Don't throw it away yet.
        Not all the one-pieces are fake.

        Mine on this picture is.
        It's made of lead and can use it as a back-up pencil.

        I wouldn't want your EK not in my collection.
        It's very suspicious.
        But I can't say for 100% sure that it is a fake.

              Why are you guys still discussing this? I can't believe it.

              No beading is going to "wear" like that. Look at the inside of the beading near th core !! It's got no definition either....

              His knife cuts through it??!! It's lead.

              Unless the 3rd Reich resorted to this precious metal in the last days.
