    Just a thought.

Perhaps the pin was put on the wrong arm of the cross?

    What do you think?

    Best regards,

      WS Cross

Ron, I have one in my collection that I have had for over 30 years and it is EXACTLY like this one. It came from one of my motel buys and has the same style pin and attached in the same manner (appears to be a factory mistake, but evidently isn't as you have one also). Mine came directly from a WWII veteran. It HAD to have been made this way, but by who and for what reason (mine is uncased, but excellent).

The closest I can come for a match is an S&L.

However, it is NOT a Deschler. Below is a Deschler:

Believe the general consensus so far is: it's not a Deschler.

The closest match I could make was also S&L but the length of the pin, the catch etc don't make it either. Below is the imo typical S&L KVK1 wos setup.

RonR -> yes, why not. Guess these guys worked under a lot of stress at times but that doesn't explain the pin and the catch.

Ron Weinand -> interesting. Too bad you can't put some more light on this so we could solve this one.
