    War Merit Cross 1st Class

    Hi all

I recently purchased this War Merit Cross 1st class. However it seems slightly different to my other two in that:

    a. it looks a lot new i.e. fresh metal with a 'flash' of sprayed paint in the centre.
    b. The swords are slightly wider and seem to be squarer tipped.
    c. The '1939' seems thicker.
    d. The wreaths look 'worn' although everything else looks fresh/unworn.
    e. The ribbon holder is smaller than my others and thinner too.

Can anyone tell me if its fake or a late/early war type? Pictures below:

It looks OK to me, but its a 2nd class KVK w/swords. As for early or late war, I have no idea.

I believe it's ok too. On the first picture the colours looks odd but that's probably because of the flash.

About early/late war I'd go for early. The late war are usually made of zinc and have some more grey/black overall apperance after 60+ years.
