        Check out this thread.

A close up of the mm would help out. There is a nice picture in the thread. The base of the pin and catch are more pronounced on your cross than on mine.

Marcus, do you know the weight of your cross? There is a 134 fake out there but I understand it is a bit heavier than the orginal. I have never seen one up close but only scans.
            Zinc stinks!

              Hi Marcus,
It looks OK to me, but again, I don't have one and I'm no expert. Paranoia hits us all with silly badges. Hang loose, I'm sure the wiser members will chime in soon. Texas calling France? Can you hear me now?

The date looks considerably different from the one on the "134" in Gordon's book.

                  Hi Marcus,

Below are some images courtesy of Deltev Niemann of a 134 marked DKiG repro, along with his description. Hopefully you'll be able to determine if your example is genuine or a repro.

                  Regards
                  Mike K

Detlev's Description: The above described and pictured item is from my point of view a modern reproduction, that was not made during the time of official award: German Cross in Gold.Maker "134",4 hollow rivets.Mint condition W: 62,61 g H: 62,73 mm Weight: 44,37 g From my point of view is this the best copy of a German cross I have seen so far. It's perfect in detail and quality. BUT TOO SMALL !. All originals (known to me) have the dimensions 63,xx to 63,xx mm. This item is not for sale from us and for collectors information only.

                  and the image....
                  Regards
                  Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

I've tried to take some better pictures,i'm still not sure on this one.The measurements seem OK....my wifes scales are the old brass weight things, unless i take it to the deli.counter in Tesco's and weight it there i can't.Bugger it!!

Can your more experienced eyes tell me an honest opinion,i need to know for Saturday i can get a refund on this with a good opinion. It's 1550 pounds guys, please help.

                    Gordon,George are you there?

Here is the date on an original '134'. Don't worry about the photo of the date from Gordon'd book - that's not the date from a '134'.

ps. tried to reply to your PM but your box is full.

                            Here's the front

I have to admit, from what I can see from your pic, the wreath is not the same.
